• Have you participated before?

None of us have participated before, so we are all first-time entrants.

• Why are you participating in Fully Crewed class?

We have extensive sailing experience, but primarily along the coast and in sheltered waters. This will be a new and exciting challenge for us. We are also very much looking forward to visiting Shetland and Lerwick.

• What are your expectations to sail during nighttime, midsummer?

We do have experience sailing at night; however, we have never been far offshore, so this will be both enjoyable and exciting. 

• How did you get to know about Bergen Shetland Race?

I have been aware of this regatta for quite some time. This is our fourth season with our own boat, and over the past two years I have followed the event closely. It will be very rewarding to finally take part ourselves. 

• Planning any activities during the stay?

Yes, we have received a list of recommended activities from a previous participant. We will not be sailing back on Saturday, but will instead begin our return journey on Sunday. We are hoping to borrow a car so that we can explore more of the island. In particular, we would very much like to visit South Mainland and Hermaness.
